One Dead Following Ohio Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer
One person is dead after a three-car crash involving a semi-trailer on northbound Interstate 75 in Miami County, Ohio. The crash occurred in the early morning hours of September 21, according to a media release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The initial investigation found that a tractor-trailer operated by Christopher Barker, 26, of Lebanon, Ohio, traveled off the left roadside and hit a concrete median barrier. The semi-trailer began to slow while occupying part of the left lane and berm, according to available information.
A Dodge Charger driven by Sandra Willis, 42, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, then struck part of the trailer. As a result, Willis’ car was pushed across the northbound lanes of traffic and hit in the right lane by a Chevrolet Equinox, according to available information. Willis was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car, and died. The Equinox then traveled off the right side of the road, through the right-of-way fence, and hit a tree. The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to available information.
It is not known if Barker was injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
