Couple Killed in a Wrong-Way 18-Wheeler Texas Fiery Crash
Tragedy struck in early August as an 18-wheeler collided with three cars, leading to the sudden death of a couple who were parents to two young children, according to available information. The incident occurred in the morning of Aug. 7 on the eastbound lanes of I-30 at FM 35 in Royse City, Texas.
Per news reports, the 18-wheeler had been traveling in the opposite direction, heading westbound, before it veered into the eastbound lanes of I-30, resulting in a collision with three cars. One car caught fire, resulting in the loss of the lives of Christopher Scott Talley, 35, and Shannon Nickole Crawford, 36, residents of Greenville, Texas.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The Royse City Police Department’s investigation unveiled that the driver’s loss of control stemmed from a tire failure on the 18-wheeler’s left front steering axle, according to available information. This sequence of events caused the vehicle to breach the grassy central median, piercing through a cable barrier and entering the flow of traffic in the eastbound lanes.
